31 May Bio Scan Signed as KA Imaging’s Sole Mexican Distributor
Bringing Innovative X-ray Solutions to a Market Forecast to Reach $340.2 Million Next Year
Waterloo, Ont. (May 31, 2021) – KA Imaging has announced a distribution agreement with Bio Scan S.A. de C.V. in Mexico. Bio Scan, as the sole distributor in Mexico, will be responsible for sales and support in full collaboration with KA Imaging territory-wide.
Amol Karnick, President and CEO of KA Imaging, said that KA Imaging is delighted to expand their business to Mexico.
“Bio Scan will be responsible for promoting KA Imaging’s innovative Reveal™ 35C, a unique low dosage dual-energy X-ray detector solution and Sight™, a state-of-the-art DR flat panel available at an affordable price,” said Karnick.
Reveal™ 35C is currently being used in two clinical trials for detecting both lung cancer and COVID-19 pneumonia in Canadian hospitals with promising results. In one shot, Reveal™ 35C enables bone and soft tissue differentiation without motion artifacts.
Sight™, a flat panel detector, features a light-weight design and low X-ray dose. The transfer speed is just two seconds, which is achieved through an antenna design that enables stronger Wi-Fi signal reception.
Bio Scan services both public and private markets in Mexico, and has nearly 600 ultrasound/X-ray units installed throughout the country.
Research shows the sales of X-ray systems are expected to more than double by 2022, compared to 2015, with the overall X-ray systems market forecast to reach over $340 million in Mexico by next year.

With the agreement, KA Imaging increases its presence in North America. Earlier this month, the Canadian company signed with Alpha Imaging for distribution in the United States.
